Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
Yes, non-members can attend Law Society of Nunavut (LSN) CLE events, but they must contact cle@lawsociety.nu.ca in advance to confirm their participation. However, LSN only issues confirmation of participation to its members.
The Law Society of Nunavut (LSN) does not accredit CLE activities. However, CLE activities are recognized based on the principle of Recognized CLE Activities.

CLE hours approved by another Law Society, the Canadian Bar Association, a law firm, a university, a legal department, a government agency or department, or a practice group of any of those entities can also be applied to the Law Society of Nunavut CLE requirements.
The Law Society of Nunavut (LSN) may occasionally promote Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events and other conferences from external organizations.

The purpose of mandatory continuing legal education (CLE) is to ensure that members of the Law Society of Nunavut meet and maintain high standards of competency by undertaking legal education throughout their careers.
The Law Society of Nunavut responds to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Call to Action #27 by ensuring that lawyers receive appropriate training in intercultural competency, conflict resolution, human rights and antiracism.
Requirements
All practising members must complete 12 hours of eligible continuing legal education, which must include:
- one hour devoted to professional responsibility & ethics; and
- one hour devoted to cultural competency.
